Petty Krooks have been running since 98. We’re still running now. We don’t have residencies and we don’t list where we play. If you want to see us use Google, or pop over to the Kenton.
Now for your history lesson:
Krooked goings on…
Bex and Ace have been DJing and Snowboard/Skateboarding as separate interests for nearly two decades now. Thanks to a chance meeting at the Sprite Urban Games in 1998 they decided to try and combine these scenes by way of forming The Petty Krooks. The original Krooks night at The Pool was just an excuse for their London friends to get together and watch Skate/Snow Videos while listening to good music and enjoying the odd beer. The idea caught on and three years later the Krooks had picked up a none too Petty following and their loyalty to the scene has produced bookings at virtually all the Major UK/European skate/snow events; Urban Games, Board-X, The British Snowboard Champs, The Brit Games, Cham Jam and Snowbombing; as well as being highly regarded enough for TBX to music programming the Nokia Totally Board event in Manchester. This popularity has translated well into the London (and, oddly enough, the Swedish) club scene where the Krooks are often booked as a team for nights aswell as producing their own, often acclaimed nights; Insane at 333mother, Petty Krooks at The Pool, Rare Find at The Vibe Bar (Critics choice in Time Out and in The Guide, 8 Ball at The Elbow Room, I Shot JR at Propaganda Bar (Critics choice in Time Out), practically everywhere in Shoreditch with a record player and few places that don’t, about a million different warehouse/bar/Skate/BMX/Snowboard/shop/video launch party’s plus the London Pirate radio station circuit. The Krooks would like to thank Carhartt Workwear, Insight Clothing and Sol Beer.
